ABOUT BRUCE LEE....ABOUT EDGAR CAYCE....from my book.

About Bruce Lee.

Most of us know Bruce Lee as the star of some of the most popular action movies ever made, but fewer of us know Bruce Lee philosopher, poet, teacher, artist and literary man. Putting aside for a moment the fact that he was the first man from China to write, choreograph and be the major star in a Hollywood movie, he gave volumes in his lifetime on the subjects of martial art and spiritually directed philosophy. For those who know the creative diversity of the man, there are a few who are aware of the underlying purpose that he brought into his life, his soul’s purpose and mission.
The unity of humanity cannot be achieved without the unification of Eastern and Western thought, any more than it can be achieved without the unification of religion with science, or philosophy with mythology, for in fact unity means everything- as one. From the Western perspective Hong Kong has provided a bridge to Chinese culture, (and the mind of one third of the world’s population)- a focal point between east and west. Created as a British mandated territory, Hong Kong has provided us with one of its own sons, born in the west and raised within Eastern and Western cultures, to be a medium for opening the doors, and the very mind between popular Eastern and Western thought. Until he arrived on the scene, those doors were closed both in culture and in the availability of the knowledge there on offer. This opening of doors has been achieved initially through martial art, now popular in the west, and Hollywood movies, now popular in the east. The flood of spiritualism, art, music, literature, culture, medicine and humanity between these doors that are now open in our very minds has been unprecedented in modern history. Not until the end of last century did China open its mind to the west, any more than we opened our minds to Chinese thought. It’s an irony, and more than coincidental that Hong Kong has once again reverted back to Chinese rule, its purpose and destiny being fulfilled through Bruce Lee and others like him, who work toward that same unity.
Bruce Lee did more for breaking down the barriers of prejudice and bigotry that hindered the dynamic exchange of popular culture  from China to the west and vice versa, than any one in the last century. He championed the weak and defenseless, and literally ‘side kicked’ the doors of cultural exchange open. The barriers of prejudice, bigotry and creative limitation…crumble! I offer you firstly this extract from an article he wrote for a philosophy degree at the University of Washington entitled, ‘A Moment of Understanding’.

“After spending many hours meditating and practicing, I gave up and went sailing alone in a junk. On the sea I thought of all my past training and got mad at myself and punched the water! Right then- at that moment- a thought suddenly struck me; was not this water the very essence of Gung Fu? Hadn’t this water now illustrated to me the principle of Gung Fu? I struck it but it did not suffer hurt. Again I struck it with all my might- yet it was not wounded! I then tried to grasp a handful of it but this proved impossible. This water, the softest substance in the world, which could be contained in the smallest jar, only seemed week. In reality it could penetrate the hardest substance in the world. That was it! I wanted to be like the nature of water.
Suddenly a bird flew by and cast its refection in the water. Right then as I was absorbing myself with the lesson of the water, another mystic sense of hidden meaning revealed itself to me; should not the thoughts and emotions I had when in front of an opponent pass like the reflection of the bird flying over the water? This was exactly what Professor Yip meant by being detached- not being without emotion or feeling, but being one in whom feeling was not sticky or blocked. Therefore in order to control myself I must first accept myself by going with and not against my nature”.

And from an article he wrote entitled ‘Taoism’.

“The natural way is compared with the ways of water. The female and the infant, that is the way of the weak. While there seems to be glorification of the weak, the strongest stress really lies with ‘simplicity’. A simple life is one of plainness in which profit is discarded, cleverness abandoned, selfishness eliminated, and desires reduced. It is the life of ‘perfection which seems to be incomplete and fullness which seems to be empty’. It is the life that is as bright as light but does not dazzle. In short, it is a life of harmony, constancy, enlightenment, peace and long life”.

And from an article on Gung Fu.

“The method for health promotion is again based on water, as flowing water never grows stale. The idea is not to over develop or to over exert but to normalize the functions of the body”.

About Edgar Cayce.

Edgar Cayce is the most astounding and completely authentic prophet and psychic healer of the twentieth century. In his lifetime he gave over 14,000 psychic readings that cover over 220 different subjects as diverse as the largest single subject, diet, health and healing, to the greatest mystery and enigma on earth, The Great Pyramid and Sphinx in Egypt. In hypnotic sleep he would send his unconscious mind to a patient, though in most cases they were hundreds and sometimes thousands of miles away. He would give a holistic physical, spiritual and mental diagnosis, in some cases even accurately describing the street and house, and in most cases prescribing a complete range of remedies that bypass the Western practice of surgery and drug therapy. After nearly three-quarters of a century of application this knowledge is proving to be 100% true- scientifically and in practical application! Over 65% of the Edgar Cayce records are about health, disease and diet, illustrating the greater need in our times for greater awareness and health of body, self and earth, that comes through applying all the correct information. The Edgar Cayce psychic readings are also now being translated and distributed in China, with more good people who are continuing the two-way unification of east and west, the unity of all humanity.
I offer you these extracts from the many psychic readings.

“Is not water the mother, the life of all material experiences? Is it not a natural law? Is it not as He, the great teacher gave? That ye are born of spirit and of water? Hence all became a part of the creation as related to manifestation.
For………which, to be sure, is the symbol of man’s experience- the firmament above the firmament, and these were separated and came into what ye know as materiality. Hence water- the most flexible, the most solid; the most destructive yet the most necessary; three-fourths of the universe; three-fourths of the human body; three-fourths of all that is- contained in water.
Hence all expression as manifested in a three dimensional world arises from same. For, it is three-fourths of the whole”.
1554-6.
“These (disturbances), as we find, have to do with the assimilations and the eliminations of the body. There should be a warning to all bodies as to such conditions; for would the assimilations and eliminations be kept nearer normal in the human family, the days (of life) might be extended to whatever period as was so desired; for the system is builded by the assimilations of that it takes within, and is able to bring resuscitation so long as the eliminations do not hinder”.
311-4.

“…as indicated, from the basic principle; first “H2O”, two elements not of material gases, but of air, of the divine itself, combined to form what ye call water”.
5148-2.

“…keep the body- physically, mentally- clean, in that those of pure water give life, vital forces, both internally and externally”.
5613-1.
“Know that there is only one Spirit, and that thou possessest thy measure of same. Thy will is given to thee to use or abuse that spirit. For, the spirit is of the Creator, and thy body is the temple of that spirit manifested in the earth to defend or to use in thine own ego, or thine own self-indulgence, or to thine own glory, or unto the glory of Him who gave thee life and immortality- if ye preserve that life, that spirit in Him”.
2448-2.

“Being made up of elements in itself that are the essence of that which may truly be called spiritual…. it gives that association and connection between the spiritual forces acting in the material elements of the earth, or material forces; hence in entering in the kingdom of the Father is knowing and following and being those elements that supply the needs of that which builds in the material plane towards the continuity of the spiritual forces manifest in the earth”.
262-28.

“…pure water, the mother of creation, for this is the beginning through which all matter which takes material form one day, someday, somewhere has passed. Hence the earth and man and matter all are three-quarters or more water, H2O. These are well, and that is a beautiful book: “H2O”.”
5148-2
